The Aurora Youth 4 Success Program began in 2009 with the vision of now State Senator Nancy Todd, her husband Terry Todd and Peggy Rudden, Executive Director of Advocates for Children (CASA). Their dream was to create a “HOPE Center” for Aurora youth that encompasses the resources needed for our youth to recreate, study, network, socialize, access computers, develop work force ready skills, health sources, and receive assistance with judicial matters. In order to gain support for the concept, the AY4S Collaborative had to prove a need existed for such a Center and thus the AY4S summer program was created. With the help of the Aurora-based non-profit Rocky Mountain Research & Prevention Institute (RMRPI) and Dr. Lisa Van Bramer, a medical doctor and Executive Director/Founder of RMRPI, this vision moved from concept to reality.
